MEXICO - Sodimac opened its seventh store in the country in León, Guanajuato state, as part of its development strategy in Mexico.

This city with more than 2 million inhabitants has one of the highest growth rates in the country, with a strong expansion of the construction sector.

The new store in Guanajuato has more than 11,000 m2 of sales area and integrates - like its other stores - the Homecenter and Constructor formats and adds e-commerce as a sales channel, increasing its coverage to 18 cities in Mexico.

Like the other stores opened in Mexico, this store introduces a series of innovations to the Mexican market, among which a  Constructor Patio stands out that allows the entry of vehicles for the purchase and loading of materials, which streamlines the service.

"We will continue to grow in Mexico with the commitment to reach more and more families and construction specialists with our proposal. We will continue to advance in the coming years in expanding our Internet sales coverage," said Sodimac's corporate general manager, Alejandro Arze, through a press release.

The executive confirmed that they plan to close the year with nine stores in México and announced that the next one to open will be in the city of Monterrey.

This opening is part of the agreement signed between the Falabella group and Organización Soriana in 2016 to develop this home improvement chain and the Falabella Soriana credit card with financing alternatives that allow clients to make their projects come true.

The new location in Mexico joins the more than 250 Sodimac points of sale in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.
