PERU - Peruvian imports of Particleboard (PB/MDP) reached USD 13.06 million in January 2021 (January 2020: USD 9.07 million) a new high for the month of January and a strong year on year growth of 43.9 percent.
For the first time Representaciones Martin with an increase of 152.8 percent compared to January 2020, was the main importing company with USD 4.54 million slightly bettering the USD 4.52 (January 2020: USD 3.33 million) imported by Novopan Perú that represented an incresae of 35.9 percent compared to the same month 0f 2020.
Maderas America followed with an increase of 35 percent reaching USD 1.06 million (January 2020: USD 792.4 Thousand).
Arauco Perú and Masisa Perú had sharp decreases in January 2021 of 48.9 percent and 67.6 percent reching USD 582.9 thousand and USD 327.7 thousand respectivelly.
Ecuador was again the main PB/MDP supplying country to Peru in the first month of 2021 with shipments of USD 4.56 million that represented an increase of 30.7 percent.
Spain was a close second with USD 4.52 million and a very strong increase of 142.7 percent compared to the USD 1.86 million shipped in January 2020.
Brasil with a noticeable growth of 65.6 percent was the third supplying country in January 2020 with USD 2.66 million. Chile followed with USD 839.4 thousand (January 2020: 2.05 million).
