BRAZIL – China, with growth of 114.4% and shipments for USD 19.89 million, became in 2020 the main destination market for Brazilian exports of Particleboard / MDP (PB / MDP).
Just one year ago China occupied the fifth position among Brazil’s PB/MDP external markets, with exports of USD 9.28 million.
The growth of exports to China allowed total Brazilian PB/MDP exports to increase by 6.7% in 2020, from USD 79.82 million in 2019 to USD 85.16 million in 2020.
The US was the second most important export market for the Brazilian PB / MDP in 2020 with shipments of USD 18.49 million, which represented a growth of 8.6% compared to 2019 (USD 17.03 million).
They were followed by Peru as the third most important external market with USD 15.31 million in 2020, a growth of 11.4% compared to 2019 (USD 13.74 million).
Exports of Brazilian PB / MDP to Colombia and Bolivia had sharp reductions in 2020, -20.6 and -26.3 percent respectively.
