ITALY - With a communication sent to exhibitors signed by President Lorenzo Primultini on July 6, the Xylexpo organizer Cepra canceled the machine fair planned for this year from November 10 to 13 at the Rho Fiera exhibition center in Milan.

Against the background of the Covid-19 crisis, the original date, May 26-29, had already been moved to the second half of the year. According to Cepra, the fair cannot be meaningfully carried out on this replacement date due to the restrictions that persist in many countries. Therefore, this year's Xylexpo will be canceled. The next event is scheduled to take place in May 2022 in line with the two-year cycle.

“The move to November 2020 - says the letter from Primultini - had seemed the best possible solution, but the verification work carried out by our organization in recent months and the constant monitoring of all the aspects necessary for a major trade fair event, unfortunately forced to find that in November the context will not yet be objectively favorable. Xylexpo, in fact, has in the international projection - with over a third of exhibitors and visitors from abroad - its soul and its vocation, which would be seriously compromised by health and economic situations not yet resolved in many areas of the world.”
