Wilsonart Expands with New Acquisition

USA – Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces has acquired the woodworking products distribution business of Virginia Tile, a division of Artivo Surfaces.

The acquisition expands Wilsonart’s company-owned distribution network in the Midwest, adding facilities in Kansas City, Kansas; Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Wichita, Kansas; and Springfield, Missouri. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquired locations distribute decorative surfaces, cabinet accessories, and functional hardware. Virginia Tile said the decision to divest the woodworking segment reflects a strategic focus on its core flooring and surface solutions business.

“We created Artivo Surfaces to be the leader in flooring and surface solutions,” said Sunil Palakodati, CEO of Artivo Surfaces and Virginia Tile. “This move supports that vision and ensures long-term growth for the woodworking division under Wilsonart’s leadership.”

Wilsonart sees the acquisition as a natural fit. “This strengthens our distribution footprint and allows us to serve a broader customer base,” said Tymon Moore, Wilsonart vice president of sales.

Randy Burton, formerly with Virginia Tile, will join Wilsonart as general manager of the acquired operations to ensure a smooth transition. “With Wilsonart’s resources and reputation in the industry, we’re poised for a strong future,” said Burton.

Founded in 1928, Virginia Tile has evolved into a leading provider of tile and surface design solutions. It remains a division of Artivo Surfaces, backed by Transom Capital Group. Artivo was established in 2024 and includes other flooring distributors such as Galleher, Tom Duffy, and Trinity Hardwoods.

Legal counsel for Wilsonart was provided by Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.
