USA –    The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer, posted sales of USD 45.3 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2025, up USD 2.1 billion or 4.9% from the same period in 2024.

Comparable sales rose 1.0%, while U.S. comparable sales increased 1.4%.  Foreign exchange rates reduced comparable sales growth by about 40 basis points.

Net earnings were USD 4.6 billion, compared with USD 4.6 billion in 2Q-2024.

“Our second quarter results were in line with expectations, driven by customer demand for smaller home improvement projects,” said Ted Decker, chair, president and CEO. He added that the company continues to expand market share thanks to strong execution by its teams.

The average ticket value at The Home Depot rose to USD 90.01 in 2Q 2025, compared with USD 88.90 a year earlier, even as customer transactions fell 0.9%.

CFO Richard McPhail told analysts that shoppers are focusing on projects they can pay for in cash, while deferring larger undertakings due to high interest rates and economic uncertainty. CEO Ted Decker added that a decline in mortgage rates could help revive demand for bigger renovations.

By the end of the quarter, The Home Depot operated 2,353 retail stores and more than 800 branches across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, employing over 470,000 associates.
