MEXICO – Sodimac, the home improvement retailer owned by Falabella S.A., has announced plans to open four new stores in Mexico in 2025.
With these additions, the company expects to close the year with 19 locations across the country. The expansion reinforces Sodimac’s strategy to strengthen its position in the growing Mexican market, where it has operated since 2016 in partnership with Soriana.
Currently, Sodimac has 15 stores in seven cities, including Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara.
After launching its first three locations in 2018, the company significantly accelerated its growth in 2021, especially in Monterrey, where it added nine stores in three years.
It has also been a sector pioneer, introducing self-checkout technology, showroom-style displays, and drive-thru loading areas for construction materials.
Despite strong competition from The Home Depot, which currently operates 140 stores in Mexico, Sodimac has achieved consistent growth.
The company attributes part of its success to its loyalty program for professionals, Círculo de Especialistas (CES), and to its emphasis on omnichannel innovation.
