Peru’s Particleboard Imports Up 16.8% in 5M-2025

PERU – Peru’s imports of particleboard / MDP  totaled USD 63.6 million between January and May 2025 (5M-2025), reflecting a 16.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

This growth was driven by higher volumes from top importers and notable surges from key supplying countries.

Novopan Peru remained the leading importer with USD 33.2 million, a 23.4% increase over the previous year. Representaciones Martín and Maderas America also performed well, growing 26.1% and 16.2%, respectively. A standout performer was Inversiones Jocema (Grupo Jocema), which expanded its imports by 66.7%, reaching USD 2.8 million.

Meanwhile, several companies recorded losses. Comercial Maderera Arrascue dropped by 60.0%, Tasmisa fell 43.5%, and Grupo Yofasa declined 14.7%.

From the country of origin perspective, Ecuador remained the largest supplier, shipping USD 33.8 million, up 22.9%. Spain saw solid growth of 32.5%, reaching USD 14.3 million. In contrast, Brazil saw a sharp 50.2% drop, and Chile recorded a slight 1.1% decrease.
