Peru’s Particleboard Imports Grow 23.1% in 6M-2025

PERU –  Peru imported USD 81.4 million worth of particleboard/MDP between January and June 2025 (6M-2025), representing a 23.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to Sisduan data.

By importer, Novopan Peru led with USD 39.3 million (+21.9%), accounting for nearly half of the total. It was followed by Representaciones Martín, which posted strong growth of 49.3% to USD 16.0 million, and Arauco Peru, which rose 36.7% to USD 8.5 million. Other notable players included Maderas America (USD 7.4 million, +16.3%) and Inversiones Jocema (USD 4.7 million, +51.6%), while imports from other countries fell 32.6%.

By country of origin, Ecuador remained the main supplier with USD 40.0 million (+21.4%), driven by Novopan del Ecuador, which continues to dominate the Peruvian market. Spain ranked second with USD 20.4 million (+47.7%), supported by the strong performance of Tableros Hispanos. Chile’s exports rose 29.2% to USD 9.6 million, with Maderas Arauco as the key supplier, while Brazil, represented by Dexco, saw a sharp decline of 45.3%. The “Others” group of countries, however, reported an extraordinary jump of +550.4%.

The figures highlight a dynamic Peruvian market, where Ecuadorian and Spanish suppliers are strengthening their presence, Chile is consolidating its growth, and Brazilian industry is facing a significant setback.
