MEXICO – Mexico’s imports of Particleboard / MDP declined notably in the first quarter of 2024 (1Q-2024) compared to the same period last year.
The country imported a total of USD 23.18 million worth of these products in 1Q-2024, marking a significant decrease of 12.2% from USD 26.41 million in 1Q-2023.
The USA, despite being the largest supplier, experienced a decline in exports to Mexico, dropping from USD 10.61 million in 1Q-2023 to USD 9.79 million in 1Q-2024, a decrease of 7.7%.
In contrast, Chile saw a modest increase of 3.4%, with exports rising from USD 8.9 million in 1Q-2023 to USD 9.27 million in 1Q-2024.
Spain faced a substantial decline of 66.8%, with exports plummeting from USD 6.19 million in 1Q-2023 to USD 2.05 million in 1Q-2024.
