DENMARK –    Jysk, one of the largest global furniture retailers, has engaged all of its suppliers in setting Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)–validated climate goals, with 94% of its suppliers—measured by emissions—committing to set SBTi-approved reduction targets by the end of FY28.

Purchased goods and services account for the largest share of Jysk’s greenhouse gas emissions. To address this, the company has set an SBTi-validated supplier engagement target, committing that by FY28, 72.5% of suppliers (by emissions) will have science-based targets in place. As of FY25, 44% of suppliers have already committed to SBTi or have validated targets.

“We are very pleased with the progress. Together with our suppliers, we are strengthening the focus on emissions reductions across our value chain,” said Ditte Revsbæk Hansen, Sustainability Director at Jysk.

Jysk actively monitors supplier progress and supports implementation through workshops, tailored guidance and collaboration with external consultants. The company expects to meet its Scope 3 target by FY28 if submitted targets receive SBTi approval.

Looking ahead, Jysk has committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50.4% by FY32. By FY25, the company had reduced these emissions by 1.2% compared to FY22, while opening more than 300 new stores. Emissions per store fell by 9% over the same period.
