FRANCE – Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, continues its renewable energy expansion with the launch of a new photovoltaic solar park in Langeron, central France.

The park, which consists of 34,500 solar modules, is expected to produce 23 GWh of energy annually, enough to power over 6,000 households.

This investment, made in 2023, supports Ingka Group’s commitment to achieving 100% renewable electricity across its Ikea retail operations globally by 2025.

The project also aligns with the company’s broader sustainability goals, focusing on encouraging the production of renewable energy, rather than merely purchasing it.

The solar park, operated in partnership with Exus Renewables, adds to Ingka Group’s existing portfolio of seven wind farms in France, helping to better match renewable energy production with the group’s consumption and supply chain needs in the region.

The official opening ceremony took place on October 30, with local representatives from Langeron in attendance.

With Ikea retail operations in 31 markets, Ingka Group is the largest Ikea retailer, accounting for approximately 90% of Ikea’s global retail sales.
