IRELAND – Ikea Ireland is celebrating the grand opening of its cutting-edge distribution center in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin, a key step in its expansion across Ireland.

1081IKEA The facility, which employs over 200 people, is part of a broader initiative that includes the establishment of six plan and order points, enhancements to the Ballymun store, and a pioneering collaboration with Tesco Ireland to offer a cost-effective collection service.

This new distribution center will significantly shorten Ikea’s delivery times in Ireland to just three days, previously managed from the UK, positioning the company among the fastest in Europe in terms of delivery speed.

Spanning over 27,000 square meters with a storage capacity of 20,000 cubic meters — equivalent to approximately 258,000 flatpack BILLY bookcases — the facility can accommodate up to 9,000 different product lines from nearly the entire Ikea range.

This development not only places Ikea products within closer reach of Irish customers but also greatly enhances product availability across the country.
