UNITED KINGDOM – Ikea has opened the ‘Hus of FRAKTA’ pop-up store on Oxford Street, London, celebrating its iconic blue FRAKTA bag.
The pop-up, located at 216 Oxford Street, is a playful tribute to the world-famous bag and is situated next to luxury brands in one of the world’s top shopping districts.
The Hus of FRAKTA offers several features, including an Atelier where customers can personalize their FRAKTA bags for £3 (free for Ikea Family members). A Curated Collection will showcase iconic Ikea products, giving shoppers a preview of the new Oxford Street store opening in spring 2025.
Matt Gould, Ikea London City Store Manager, said: “We’re excited to bring Ikea to Oxford Street and honor this iconic location with a fusion of fashion and our principles of democratic design.”
The FRAKTA bag, originally designed to carry purchases, has become a global symbol of versatility and affordability. Available for just 75p, it’s a cultural icon, used for everything from laundry baskets to beach bags.
