IKEA Iberica distributes € 13.2 million bonus among its employees

SPAIN – IKEA will distribute more than 13 million euros extra to its workforce in Spain as a thank you for reaching the business objectives of the past year, an increase of 4.7% over the previous year.

Between September 2015 and August 2016, the company’s last full fiscal year, IKEA increased sales in Spain by 8% and reached 1.384 billion euros in turnover. IKEA Ibérica has more than 8,150 employees, 12.5% more than at the end of 2015.

The compensation is distributed within the One IKEA Bonus and Tack!, programs that benefit the company employees regardless of the position or rank they occupy. Since both programs were launched three years ago, IKEA has distributed a total of 36.7 million extra euros among its employees in Spain.

One IKEA Bonus is a bonus program based on the fulfillment of the financial objectives in each of the countries in which IKEA operates with the only requirement of working for the company for at least six uninterrupted months and be active at the close of each fiscal year. IKEA has distributed, in this case, 10.2 million euros to its employees in Spain.

For its part, Tack!, which means “thank you” in Swedish, makes annual contributions to individual employee pension plans, once an initial period of five consecutive years of working in the Group is completed and provided that the results goals of the company worldwide are met.

All full-time employees receive the same amount regardless of the position and responsibility they have while part-time employees receive an amount commensurate with the hours worked. The distribution in this case was 3 million euros among its employees in Spain, and a total of 108 million euros among the international workforce of the IKEA Group in the 28 countries where it has a presence.
