COLOMBIA – Ikea, the renowned Swedish multinational that specializes in furniture and home decor, has announced the launch of its second Colombian store.

Situated in Cali’s Mallplaza Cali shopping center, this new store boasts over 15,000 square meters of retail space, featuring 21 furniture showrooms and a restaurant offering Swedish cuisine. The grand opening is set for May 8th at 10:30 a.m.

 “The store is conveniently located for Cali’s residents, positioned close to major roads, bus stations, and stops, linking different areas of the city and making it possible for 90% of the population to access the store within 60 minutes,” stated the company.

Additionally, Ikea’s growth strategy in Colombia includes plans to open a store in Medellín, anticipated for the latter half of this year, though a specific date has yet to be confirmed.

The first Ikea store in Bogota, according to Hasbleidy Castañeda, manager of Ikea Colombia, closed 2023 with 1.6 million visitors, and the online shopping portal accumulated 6 million visits since its opening in September.
