PARAGUAY – Danish children’s furniture manufacturer Flexa has opened its first store in South America. It is located in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay.

The shop opened before Christmas 2015 in cooperation with a local franchisee experienced in design and furniture. When it comes to the establishment at distant markets, Flexa’s strategy is to be the franchisor, in close cooperation with local business people who know the culture, legislation and business processes.

The new store, which has a sales area of 87 m2, is located on a busy street and with other concept stores nearby that attract a similar customer segment.

Paraguay is undergoing an exciting economic development with a rapidly growing middle class, and thus fits well with the Flexa concept. Flexa estimates that 1-2 stores will be enough to cover the Paraguayan market, and then, the plan is to expand in markets such as Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Brazil. Flexa has long been in dialogue with several potential partners, and is expected to set up in Mexico in the first quarter of 2016.
