Blum Sells Russian Subsidiary

AUSTRIA - The Austrian furniture hardware manufacturer Julius Blum will sell its Russian subsidiary in Moscow.

1000BLUMManaging Director Philipp Blum confirmed. Blum stopped all deliveries to Russia immediately after the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine at the end of February 2022. The company is now completely separating itself from the Russian market until further notice.

Blum will sell its branch there to two long-standing Russian sales partners who have promised to take on all of the approximately 60 employees at the location founded in 1997, said Philipp Blum. This is important insofar as all employees on site would continue to have professional prospects and a secure livelihood.

The decision to sell was made in view of the ongoing imponderables. Since there is no improvement in the legal and economically uncertain situation in Russia in sight.

However, it is hoped that furniture makers in Russia will be able to be supplied with Blum fittings again at some point, even if the point in time is not yet foreseeable.
