COLOMBIA - As a result of a strategy that seeks to consolidate its essence as a multi-Latin company, the operation of this company in Colombia transforms its corporate brand Pegatex Artecola to Artecola.

With a presence not only in the country, but also in 17 other Latin American markets and with 9 industrial plants, one of them in Colombia, Artecola in Colombia is one of the largest players in the adhesives market with a share of 11.8%.

This multilatina has 73 years of history. In Colombia, Artecola began operations in 2004 with the acquisition of PIN, a company specialized in the production of adhesives for footwear. In 2013, it merged with the Colombian Pegatex, founded in 1962, which gave rise to PEGATEX ARTECOLA, strengthening its presence and leadership in the domestic market, with well-known brands such as Pegadit, PL285, Carpincol and Afix.

Today, Artecola has more than 750 employees in Latin America, 180 of them working at its plant in Colombia, located in Mosquera - Cundinamarca, who, "in a location of more than 23,000 square meters, develop adhesives, sealants and thermoplastic laminates for a wide variety of segments in industry and retail, including, among others, the construction sector, automotive production, the footwear industry, paper and packaging, furniture and agribusiness. Products used in numerous applications such as diapers, notebooks, clothing, labeling, among many others," says Luciano Guimaraes, General Manager of Artecola Colombia.

Through its three business areas: Industry, Consumer and Extrusion, the multilatina achieved in 2020 a growth of 7% compared to 2019 throughout Latin America, while, in the first seven months of this year, it reports an accumulated growth of 49% over the same period of the previous year.
