FRANCE - The association between Evertree, specialist in adhesive solutions, FCBA, the technological institute of the forest-wood and furniture sectors, and the partnership with Panneaux de Corrèze has given life to the first bio-sourced composite wood panel in the world and 100% French.

"Society tends to find eco-responsible solutions and sustainable alternatives." This thought is the soul of the young start-up Evertree. Based in Compiègne in the Oise, it was created in 2016 to develop bio-based adhesive solutions that are better for health and the environment. This vegetable adhesive has a name, Green Ultimate. It has the same performance as the petro-sourced solutions so far used in composite wood panels. It has the double advantage of reducing emissions of formaldehyde, a carcinogenic organic compound according to the WHO, which is found in most homes, and CO2 emissions from fossil-based resins, which are harmful to the environment.

The partnership between Evertree and FCBA has made it possible to develop a vegetable-based adhesive solution for the manufacture of composite wood panels. Supported since 2019 by Ademe, Green Ultimate resin is able to replace the UF (urea-formaldehyde) resins used in composite wood panels.

Green Ultimate makes it possible to obtain wood panels that are more compliant with health and environmental issues with formaldehyde emissions equivalent to natural wood, i.e. 10 times lower than the European standard (E1). And it was in 2021 that the project came to fruition thanks to Evertree's first partner, Panneaux de Corrèze, manufacturer of MDF wood panels. “The duration of the project is 54 months and we obtained this first conclusive result, a world first, in less than 18 months. It is a real success, for our health and that of our children as well as for the environment ”, underlines the managing director of Evertree.
