GERMANY - The fittings specialist Häfele (Nagold) has recently started building a new high-bay warehouse at the company’s headquarters.
The implementation is carried out by the planning and consulting company io-consultants GmbH & Co. KG.
As the company informs, Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut broke ground on October 6th for the expansion of around 15,000 storage spaces. Commissioning is planned for the beginning of 2022.
The dispatch center in Nagold was built in 1974 and continuously expanded and automated in the following years. Today it consists of three automated high-bay warehouses and further manual storage areas with a total of more than 100,000 storage spaces. Around 6,000 shipments currently leave the warehouse every day.
The new construction of the high-bay warehouse and the associated plant expansion mark the start of the expansion and modernization of the existing logistics. “The plant expansion in Nagold creates capacities for further growth and is therefore an important component for the long-term development of Häfele’s logistics”, explains Rainer Diez, partner at io-consultants.
