GERMANY - On the 100th anniversary of Jowat, the adhesives specialist from Detmold, Germany is presenting itself with the statement “Our word is our bond”.

Since 1919 Jowat underscores its commitment to high product quality and comprehensive services with a wide range of new, powerful adhesives from all fields of application.

With over 1,200 employees worldwide, Jowat SE produces more than 90,000 tons of adhesives per year and ensures customer-focused distribution of those products via its 23 subsidiaries and a close-knit global network of distributors. The adhesives manufacturer’s extensive portfolio includes high-performance adhesives used in woodworking and furniture manufacture, in the automotive industry and its suppliers, in the paper processing industry, for graphic arts, for textile finishing and in the construction sector.

In 2019, the year of its anniversary, Jowat is presenting both tried-and-tested as well as new product highlights from all fields of application. The PUR hot melt adhesives belonging to the continually growing Jowatherm-Reaktant® MR product family play an important part in this. These adhesives have a reduced monomer content and are therefore not subject to hazard labelling under GHS, and are used in a wide range of applications, for instance in the wood and furniture industry due to newly developed adhesives for edge banding and laminating wood-based boards. In addition, Jowat has launched a product family of fully certified 1-component PUR prepolymers for the manufacture of load-bearing glulam, which are part of the Jowapur® range.
