GERMANY – German edge banding manufacturer MKT GmbH announced the acquisition of the ABS edge banding business of Corbetta FIA of Carugo, Italy. 

Corbetta FIA will now focus on it´s core business, the distribution of CPL’s of decor printer Confalonieri.

Since mid-2012, MKT has become the main supplier for ABS jumbo rolls, which were cut at the factory in Carugo by Corbetta, packaged and sold from here to more than 300 end customers in Italy.

With the acquisition of the distribution network in Italy MKT will be represented with the brand Alpha Tape® now directly on the Italian market. This allows a greater degree of flexibility, more customer proximity and shorter delivery times.

Founded in 1991 Moderne Kunststoff-Technik Gebr. Eschbach GmbH (MKT), located in Ohrdruf, Thuringia, has evolved within a couple of years into one of the market leaders in the manufacturing of edge banding in Europe, aiming at global markets as well. MKT has established its position, not only in the expanding markets in Asia, but in Eastern Europe in particular. For this reason MKT opened his own representative office for the Russian market in Moscow in 2009.
