COLOMBIA –  Colombia’s plastic edgeband imports surged by 108.7% in the first quarter of 2025, reaching USD 2.63 million, compared to USD 1.26 million in the same period of 2024.

Madecentro led the import rankings with USD 1.26 million, more than doubling its previous year’s total (+132.8%).

Other top importers included Mader Cantos (USD 296,504; +56.7%), Triplex Holguín (+166.3%), and Rehau SAS (+151.1%). Promaca was one of the few companies to post a decline (-17.4%).

By origin, Turkey was the main supplier with USD 1.27 million, up 155.1% year-over-year, followed closely by Portugal (+114.4%) and China (+32.9%).

From a supplier perspective, Proadec led with USD 1.16 million (+114.4%), followed by Asts Profile (USD 383,373; +252.8%) and Tece, Karebant, and Lignadecor, which made a strong entry.
