Spain: Cosentino receives the National Innovation Award

SPAIN – In an event celebrated on February 6 at the Regional Archaeological Museum of Alcala de Henares (Madrid) with the presence of TRH the Kings of Spain, accompanied by Secretary of State for R & D & I Carmen Vela, the National Awards for Innovation and Design 2016 have been awarded by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

The multinational Cosentino Group of Almeria has been awarded the National Innovation Award 2016, in Internationalization category. This award recognizes and rewards those companies that have successfully introduced to the market technological and innovative products developed in Spain, contributing significantly to a better international positioning of Spanish economy and innovation.

Regarding the election of Cosentino in the Internationalization modality, the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness highlighted in a press release: “The jury has highlighted its ability to transform the stone mining sector. By introducing innovative processes and a strong dose of design, it has managed to produce a category of products unprecedented worldwide. In addition, it has highlighted its consolidated international expansion based on a distribution system and unique customer service in its sector, as well as its determined commitment to R & D & I”.

Cosentino Group is a global, Spanish, family-owned company that produces and distributes high value innovative surfaces for the world of design and architecture. The Group currently distributes its products and brands to more than 80 countries, directly controlling and managing its facilities in over 20 countries from its headquarters in Almeria, Spain.
