GERMANY – Hafele, the German manufacturer of furniture hardware and electronic locking systems continues to grow. The Group generated sales of EUR 1,144 million (2013: EUR 1,071 million).
This represents an increase of 7% compared to the previous year. This was due in particular on the foreign markets, where Häfele now generates 77% of its sales. Western Europe also recouped better growth rates. The Häfele subsidiary in the UK was particularly successful. Overall, the parent company in Germany grew by 6% and foreign subsidiaries by 8%.
“Since the crisis year of 2009, we were able to increase sales at home and abroad by over 50%,” says company director Sibylle Thierer. Häfele supplies its products and services to the leading furniture manufacturers in the world, architects and planners, crafts and trade. The number of employees is grew worldwide in 2014 by 300 to 6,900, of which 1,600 are employed in Germany.
