GERMANY – Annually, the German Design Council distinguishes products that pioneer innovation, providing notable value to users and the environment.

This year, Rehau’s sustainable edgeband line, including Raukantex evo and eco, received double recognition from a prestigious jury of interdisciplinary experts.

Awarded in the “Excellence in Business to Business: Material & Surfaces” category, this accolade reinforces Rehau’s commitment to a comprehensive sustainability approach, as emphasized by Daniel Elfe-Degel, Sustainability Officer for the Interior Solutions Division. Their goal remains steadfast: to expand the use of non-fossil-based materials and decrease CO2 emissions.

Raukantex eco integrates 50% post-industrial recyclates into its base material, while Raukantex evo utilizes polymers derived from non-fossil sources, eliminating the need for additional crude oil.

Notably, Raukantex evo is the inaugural Rehau edgeband to obtain ISCC-PLUS certification, highlighting the company’s dedication to environmentally responsible practices.

These initiatives underscore Rehau’s continuous efforts to promote sustainable solutions and reduce their ecological footprint.
