BRAZIL –  Munksjö, a leading global manufacturer of décor paper, has successfully started up its modernized PM7 paper machine at its Caieiras plant, located in the São Paulo metropolitan region.

This marks the completion of the company’s largest investment in Brazil, totaling BRL 190 million (approximately EUR 30 million), and concludes a three-year modernization effort.

The investment is part of Expandecor, a strategic project aimed at doubling the plant’s production capacity and reinforcing Munksjö’s position as the only producer of décor paper in Latin America. With the new PM7, the company is now able to fully meet domestic demand in Brazil and expand its support to key markets across Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Mexico.

The first jumbo roll from the modernized machine was produced on April 15, 2025. In the weeks ahead, the team will continue optimizing performance to ensure reliable operation at full capacity. The official inauguration ceremony is scheduled for early June.

The project included a full revamp of the PM7, now dedicated to producing solid colors and print base paper used in decorative surfaces for furniture and laminate flooring. Additional civil works upgraded the plant’s infrastructure to support the new technology.
