GERMANY – Hettich, one of the worlds largest furniture hardware manufacturers, has announced plans to discontinue logistics operations at its Vlotho, Germany site by 2026/27.

The company is in talks with external logistics providers to find a new solution in the OWL region.

The 45-year-old logistics center in Vlotho no longer meets the company’s long-term growth needs, prompting Hettich to develop a more efficient, scalable supply chain with external partners.

Hettich is working with the 120 affected employees and local works councils to find solutions that improve efficiency and drive profitable growth. The company aims to optimize production capacities globally, factoring in sustainability and geopolitical considerations.

Operating in eight countries, Hettich’s global production network enhances supply security, risk management, and sustainable supply chains, positioning the company to meet regulatory challenges like the Emissions Trading System (ETS) and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
