SPAIN- Cosentino Group, the global Spanish firm and a leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for the world of architecture and design, has entered Denmark for the first time with the opening of a “Center” to provide direct services to the country, reinforcing the Group’s presence in Scandinavia where it has been working for ten years.

With this entry into a new country, the multinational is closing a year during which its active policy of geographical diversification and control of its own distribution has increased, consolidating itself as one of the most internationally widespread Spanish companies of the moment.

The “Center”, which represents a total investment of almost 1.8 million euros, is located in the town of Hedensted, in the region of Central Jutland, one of the largest in Denmark. The facility has 2.500 m2 of storage and offices, a storage capacity of approximately 9,500 slabs that will offer an independent and direct service to the Danish market, and is starting out with a team of seven people.

Cosentino took its first steps in this Northern European region in 2006 with the opening of the Cosentino Göteborg Center in Sweden, offering regular service of Cosentino products for the Swedish, Finnish and Danish markets. In 2013, the company opened its second distribution center in Scandinavia in the city of Oslo, Norway, thus covering demand in that country, and providing service to Iceland too.

According to Pedro Parra, Sales Manager for Cosentino Europe, “our objective is to continue growing in Europe even more intensely that we have done in recent years, and the Scandinavian market is fundamental for this. In fact, Sweden was one of our first international subsidiaries, as we were sure that the region’s high purchasing power and great possibility for growth. Proof of this is our ongoing investment, this time in Denmark with a strategically located Center giving us full autonomy and distribution capacity in this country. We will not stop there, and next year we plan to enter another key market, Finland.”

Denmark is an important finishing touch for 2016, a year that has seen the Spanish multinational company consolidate and increase its overseas presence with owned assets now in over 30 countries.

Highlights of the year include the increase in the Cosentino network in North America with the opening of 4 new “Centers” in the USA. 2016 has also seen significant growth in Cosentino’s penetration of Oceania, where it has opened assets in New Zealand, with a “Center” in Auckland, as well as the opening of two new “Centers” in Australia, in Melbourne (North) and Perth, and a logistical operator in Adelaide.

The Cosentino network in Australia now comprises five “Centers” or warehouses, one “Cosentino City” and one Logistics Operator.

The Cosentino Group is a global, family-owned company that produces and distributes high value innovative surfaces for architecture and design. The Cosentino Group distributes its products and brands in more than 80 countries, from its headquarters in Almeria (Spain).

Currently Cosentino is present in 32 countries, with its own assets in 27 of them. The group has seven factories (six in Almería, Spain and one in Brazil), one intelligent logistic platform in Spain, and more than 120 commercial and business units throughout the world. More than 90% of Cosentino Group’s financial turnover comes from international markets.
