CHILE - The value of Chilean exports of particleboard (PB/MDP) increased by 13.1 percent in the first 5 months of 2023 (5M-2023) reaching USD 46.60 million, compared to USD 41.20 million in the same period of 2022.

Total Chilean exports of PB / MDP in 5M-2023 were accounted for by Arauco and Masisa with external shipments of USD 34.61 million and USD 11.98 million, respectively.

Within the good performance of Chilean exports of PB / MDP in 5M-2023, the notable growth of shipments to Guatemala (USD 3.37 million), Ecuador (USD 3.31 million) and Colombia (USD 7.41 million) stands out, which increased 77.5 percent, 52.9 percent and 38.3 percent, respectively.

Mexico (USD 14.40 million) and Peru (USD 11.75 million) were the two main foreign markets for Chilean PB/MDP in the period, with a 3.1 percent drop and a 4.1 percent improvement, respectively.
