ECUADOR - The value of Ecuadorian imports of decorative papers for wood panel surfaces reached USD 15.12 million in the first half of 2023 (6M-2023).

Which represented a drastic decrease of 49.6 percent with respect to the same period of the previous year (6M-2022: USD 30.02 million).

Novopan del Ecuador, one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of MDP particleboard in Latin America, was the leading importer of decorative papers in 6M-2023 with USD 13.08 million, down 52.3 percent compared to 6M-2022 (USD 27.43 million).

Schattdecor and Impress were the top suppliers in 6M-2023 with USD 4.19 million and USD 3.75 million respectively which represented sharp decreases of 51.8 percent and 65.8 percent respectively.

Spain (USD 4.44 million), Austria (USD 3.85 million) and Brazil (USD 3.67 million) were the three main countries supplying decorative papers to the Ecuadorian market in 6M-2023.
