ITALY – Franco Bulian, born in Udine in 1960, is Catas new managing director.

Mr. Bulian joined the Catas Chemical Department in 1987. Over the years he assumed the role of vice director and of marketing director too. He is also a contract professor in the “Materials and Technologies of the Furniture Industry" course at the University of Trieste and author of numerous books and technical publications.

His long militancy in Catas has led him to be active part of its overall activities, as well as direct protagonist in its growth.

“I am really proud to complete my path in Catas with this new and prestigious challenge”, he commented. “I'd like to thank the board of directors and the president Lucia Cristina Piu for their trust and I am sure that together with all the excellent collaborators of Catas, with their enthusiasm, their passion and their skills, we will be able to achieve new and ambitious goals with the renewed purpose of contribute to improving the safety and performance of the products of this important industrial sector.”

Franco Bulian therefore takes the place of Andrea Giavon, who leaves the institute to enjoy a new season of his life.

Thanks to its expertise and specialization Catas is considered the biggest European laboratory for testing and for applied research in the wood and furniture sector.
