ECUADOR - Ecuadorian Particleboard / MDP (PB/MDP) exports were up almost 50% in September 2020 reaching USD 14.46 million compared to USD 9.65 million in the same month of 2019.

Ecuadorian PB/MDP exports to Colombia and Peru its two most relevant external markets reached USD 6.90 million and 6.58 million respectively. Exports to Colombia were up 25.8% while exports to Peru almost doubled in September.

The strong improvement of Ecuadorian PB/MDP exports in September took third quarter 2020 exports to USD 41.82 million compared to USD 32.34 million in the same period 2109 (USD 32.34 million), an increase of 29.3 percent.

The results of the third quarter of Ecuadorian PB/MDP exports strongly contrast with those of the first six months of the year which were down more than 30% from USD 61.30 million in the first semester of 2019 to USD 42.85 million in the same period 2020.
