ECUADOR - Ecuadorian imports of decorative papers for wooden panels surfaces reached USD 7.42 million in the first five months of 2020 (5M-2020), a 19.4 percent drop compared to the same period of 2019 (5M-USD 9.2 million).

Novopan del Ecuador, one of the largest particleboard manufacturers and exporters in Latin America, was the main importer company in 5M-2020 with USD 3.09 million, 5.2 percent less compared to 5M-2019 (USD 3.26 million).

Decor paper imports by Aglomerados Cotopaxi, the other Ecuadorian wooden panel manufacturer, reached USD 644 thousand in 5M-2020 compared to USD 1.46 million in 5M-2019 (-56.0 per cent).

Impress Decor Austria and Schattdecor Srl were the main supplier companies in 5M-2020 with USD 3.09 million and USD 2.51 million respectively that represented decreases of 8.5 percent and 6.2 percent.

Austria and Italy were the main supplier countries of Decor papers to Ecuador in 5M-2020, followed by Spain (USD 970 thousand) and Brazil (USD 716 thousand).
