ECUADOR - Ecuadorian PB / MDP exports reached USD 22.3 million in the first two months of 2020 (2M-2020), a growth of 9.0 percent compared to the same period of the previous year (2M-2019: USD 20.4 million).

Behind this important growth is Novopan del Ecuador, which supplied 98.6 percent of the total particleboard exported by the country. As of February 2020, Novopan’s PB / MDP exports reached USD 22.0 million, a solid growth of 8.5 percent compared to the first two months of 2019.

The main external market for the Ecuadorian PB / MDP was again Colombia. In 2M-2020, Ecuadorian PB / MDP for USD 13.2 million was shipped to that country, a notable improvement of 16.8 percent compared to shipments of 2M-2019 (USD 11.3 million).

Peru was the second most important market for Ecuadorian PB/MDP in 2M-2020 with imports of USD 7.2 million, a 6.2 percent drop compared to the same period in 2019 (2M-2019: USD 7.7 million.

Peru, together with Colombia, represent 91.7 percent of Ecuador's total exports of PB/MDP in the first two months of 2020.
