PERU - In October, Peruvian imports of particleboard/MDP reached USD 7.1 million, an increase of 14.2% compared to the same period of 2016.

Chile tends to consolidate as the main supplying country of particleboard/MDP to the Peruvian market with a 40.8% share (worth USD 2.9 million) of total imports, followed by Ecuador with 29.7% share (USD 2.1 million), Spain with 15.7% (USD 1.1 million) and Brazil with USD 931 thousand and a 13.1% share of total particleboard/MDP imports and the highest growth in the month (up 142%).

The main importer in October was again Novopan Peru with USD 2.1 million (October 2016: USD 2.4 million) and a 29.1% share of total Peruvian imports of particleboard/MDP. Followed by Masisa Peru with imports of USD 1.33 million (October 2016: USD 1.1 million) and 18.7% share of total imports; Arauco Peru with USD 1.32 million (October 2016: USD 1.36 million) and 18.6% share; Representaciones Martin with USD 1.08 million (October 2016: USD 767 thousand) and 15.2% share and Interforest with USD 536 thousand (October 2016: 282 thousand) which represented 7.5% of total imports and the highest growth in the month (90.6%).
