BRAZIL (Notifix).- Rio Grande do Sul (RS) lost the position it held since August 2012 as the main furniture exporting state in the country. Export figures for the first two months of 2013 place now Santa Catarina as the main exporting state.

Santa Catarina furniture exports reached USD 26.9 million, a 28.4% share, above RS exports of USD 25.9 million, a 27.3% share of total furniture exports. Total Brazilian exports in the period fell 4% totaling USD 97.4 million (2011: USD 101.5 million).
