ARGENTINA (Notifix) .- The Argentine Wood Industry Federation, FAIMA, reported that on April 28 upon formal negotiations, a wage increase of 28.25% was decided. This increase
applies to furniture, door and other wood product branches; also plywood, packaging crates, and particleboard for the period from April 1° 2011 to March31 2012.The increase will be put in place in stages, for the April-July period a 10% increase, for the August-November another 9.25% hike and for the December 2011 - March 2012 period a final 9% raise. Negotiations were lead by representatives of FAIMA and delegates of Wood Industry Labor Union.
