Spain: Furniture imports up 35.6% in first semester

Spain (Notifix).- The Spanish association of furniture manufacturers and exporters, ANIEME, published international trade data for the first semester 2010. During the period

the country imported furniture for €1.297,2 million, while in the same period 2009 imports were valued at 956,8 million, representing a 35,6% increase. China is positioned as the top origin of Spanish furniture imports at 321,8 million euro, up 25,7% from the figures of same period the year before. On the other side Spanish furniture exports were up 5,3% against the year before as they reached 685,7 million euro. Main export destination was France (31,8%), followed by Portugal, Germany, Italy and the UK. The markets that have most reduced their imports of Spanish furniture between January and June 2010 are Russia (-32,9%), UAE (-16,5%), Mexico (-14,9%) y USA (-3,5%).Ranking de países origen de las importaciones españolas de muebles
