CHINA – According to data from the Acimall Studies Office based on ISTAT figures, China’s exports of woodworking machinery (excluding tools) reached EUR 2.52 billion in 2024, marking a 9.3% increase compared to 2023.

Vietnam became China’s top export destination, with imports rising to EUR 357.3 million, a 27% increase from the previous year. The United States followed closely with EUR 348 million, growing modestly by 2%. While most of the top ten markets showed strong or stable growth, Germany saw a notable 30% decline, dropping to EUR 150.2 million.

Several emerging markets posted significant growth: Thailand surged by 88.7%, reaching EUR 92.7 million, while Brazil rose by 55.4% to EUR 72.6 million. India and Indonesia also recorded steady gains. In contrast, Malaysia and Russia saw decreases of 21.1% and 0.7%, respectively.

These trends underline shifting global dynamics in wood processing, with Southeast Asia solidifying its role as a key manufacturing hub and growth market for woodworking technologies.
