VIETNAM – The Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade informed that it will this month impose temporary anti-dumping duty on some furniture products originating from China.
The tariff of between 21.4% and 35.2% will be in place for four months starting mid-October, the ministry informed in a recent statement.
Imports of table and chairs from China have increased “significantly” and have inflicted damage on domestic production, according to the statement obtained by Reuters. Reuters said the statement did not elaborate further.
China is Vietnam’s largest trading partner and a key source of materials and equipment for Vietnam’s manufacturing.
