VIETNAM – According to the  Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), Vietnam is the world’s fourth largest exporter of wood and wood-based products after China, Germany and Italy.

Export turnover for wood and wood-based products in 2015 was USD 6.9 billion, up 10.7 % over the previous year. However this figure is still below the initial projection of USD 7 billion. The U.S., China, Japan and the EU were the largest import markets for Vietnam.

This year’s earnings are expected to hit approximately USD 7.2 billion with growth rate approximating 8-10%.
