USA –  The 2024 FDMC 300 report reveals a stable year for North America’s top 300 wood products manufacturers, with a mix of sales growth, slight declines, and many companies maintaining their performance. Several companies exited the list, while a few new names joined the ranks.

The 2025 FDMC 300 produced by FDMC magazine is sponsored by Daubert Chemical Co., DVUV, IMA Schelling Group, Panel Processing Inc., SATA, and Vortex Tool Co.

The total sales for the FDMC 300, which includes manufacturers of furniture, cabinetry, millwork, flooring, windows/doors, retail fixtures, and other wood products, reached USD 73.3 billion in 2024. Furniture manufacturers represented the largest segment, accounting for 44.7% of the total sales. Contract furniture manufacturers led the category, surpassing residential furniture sales with 23.4% versus 21.3%.

This shift is attributed to an uncertain housing market and office refurbishing trends aimed at attracting employees back to on-site work. The future impact of these factors, along with tariffs, remains unclear heading into 2025.

Cabinetry and closet manufacturers represented 20.8% of the total, maintaining a stable share compared to 2023. Retail fixtures and architectural millwork accounted for 2.4% and 2.0%, respectively. The specialty products sector, which includes musical instruments, represented 2.3%. Fenestration and flooring products made up 27.8% of the total sales.

Economic uncertainty, labor recruitment and retention, and the effects of tariffs were key concerns in 2024 and are expected to persist into 2025. Despite these challenges, many FDMC 300 companies are projecting growth in 2025, though the extent remains uncertain.
