SWITZERLAND – Technische Fachschule Bern (TF Bern), founded in 1888 in Switzerland, is renowned for blending technical training with real-world production. With 650 trainee spaces, TF Bern offers hands-on experience by creating custom furniture and interior fittings.

Digital tools from Homag are central to this process, making digital skills a core part of the curriculum

“Digital products are standard in our training,” says Andreas Dürner, Vocational Trainer. TF Bern integrates Homag apps like intelliDivide Cutting and Edgeband Management Set into both teaching and production. “These tools simplify tasks and improve efficiency,” Dürner adds.

The college combines theory with practical training, using actual customer orders. Trainees gain valuable insights into their future careers, and the curriculum is adapted to individual needs, including for young athletes.

TF Bern has successfully digitized its production and work preparation processes. With the Homag productionManager, digital order management has streamlined operations, allowing integration with existing ERP systems. “Digital tools have made our processes more efficient and communication easier,” says Marc Kammermann, Head of the Technical Office.
