GERMANY – Ligna 2025 will take place in Hannover from May 26 to 30 in a challenging environment marked by new U.S. tariffs and international counter measures affecting several industries, including woodworking.

Despite these obstacles, Ligna has always proven to be a driver of innovation, even in difficult times. This year’s event, centered around the theme of “Sustainable Production,” will highlight both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Stephanie Wagner, Head of Ligna at Deutsche Messe, stated that the fair will focus on resilient, forward-thinking solutions. Siemens, one of the key exhibitors, will showcase technologies that merge traditional machine reliability with cutting-edge digital tools. Visitors will see AI-based quality inspection and Industrial Edge solutions in action, including live demos of Siemens’ Industrial Edge Ecosystem and Inspekto, a solution for real-time visual quality control.
LINCK Holzverarbeitungstechnik GmbH will introduce its new PRO NANO line, designed to process small-diameter logs efficiently while maximizing value yield in minimal space. The company will also present its myLINCK digital platform, which supports predictive maintenance and improves productivity.
Fagus-GreCon, marking 50 years at Ligna, will display smart, remote-capable systems for material conservation and quality improvement, with a focus on digitalization and sustainable manufacturing. They will showcase innovations in laser-based edge inspection, fire prevention, and industrial measurement technology.
Venjakob, specializing in coating technology, will demonstrate turnkey coating systems covering surface treatment, coating, drying, and automation. Their focus on sustainability and resource conservation aligns with the industry’s shift towards digital and sustainable solutions.
Despite the global economic challenges, Ligna 2025 will showcase how the woodworking industry is advancing through sustainable production and innovative digital technologies.
