Strong Growth in Colombian Decor Paper imports

COLOMBIA – Colombia’s imports of decor paper for wooden panels have seen a strong increase in the first half of 2024 (6M-2024), totaling USD 11,056,148, a 42.1% rise compared to USD 7,781,687 during the same period in 2023.

Brazil remains the largest supplier country, with imports rising 18.0% to USD 6,469,638. China experienced a notable 163.2% increase, reaching USD 2,580,285. Spain and Austria also contributed significantly, with Spain increasing by 59.0% to USD 942,255, and Austria by 145.3% to USD 447,182. Other supplier countries accounted for USD 616,788, marking a 13.9% increase.

By brand, Interprint led with USD 3,951,510, a 48.5% increase from USD 2,661,046 in 6M-2023. Schattdecor experienced a decline of 10.8%, totaling USD 2,571,181. Conversely, Impress reported a remarkable 136.1% growth, reaching USD 1,110,310. Lamigraf increased by 77.9% to USD 519,017, while the other suppliers rose by 96.6% to USD 2,904,130.

On the importer side, Dexco/Duratex led the market with USD 4,435,494, up 45.5%. Primadera followed closely with a 53.5% increase to USD 2,437,427. Industrias Dofi exhibited significant growth, jumping 189.7% to USD 2,244,027. Lamitech and Comercializadora Ecofort also reported increases, while Tablemac MDF saw a sharp decline of 90.7%.
