SPAIN – AMC, the Spanish Kitchen Furniture Association, has reviewed the past financial year 2022, in which the turnover of its associated kitchen furniture manufacturers increased by 16.14% year-on-year, while that of the other member companies increased by 8.28%.

1029ESPAÑA Thus, the Spanish kitchen equipment sector as a whole, represented by AMC, closed 2022 with a 10.26% increase in turnover compared to 2021.

If we take into account last year’s results according to the different kitchen equipment sectors represented in AMC, the 16.14% growth experienced by kitchen furniture manufacturers was followed by the 15.05% increase recorded by distribution companies. In the case of household appliance manufacturers, turnover rose by 12.26%, while component manufacturers saw their turnover increase by 9.86%.

As for countertop companies, their sales rose by 6.67% in 2022, and those of hardware by 5.85%. Table and chair manufacturers saw an increase of 3.11%. And in the case of software firms, growth was practically flat (0.02%).

Despite these positive figures, however, AMC points out that profitability is slightly lower. This is due to the increase in associated production costs, such as energy, some raw materials and transport. However, in the words of Antonio Morilla, from 2aküchen, “the kitchen sector is still strong and integrates any new innovation. This makes it less sensitive to downward pressure on demand. Workforces are now smaller, but with higher turnover, this means we are becoming more productive and efficient.
