SPAIN – From January to June 2022, Spanish furniture exports show an increase of 12.4%, exceeding €1.44 billion.
Two European countries, France and Portugal, concentrate 44.2% of Spanish furniture exports and are at the top of the main destinations for Spanish furniture during the first half of 2022.
France maintains its leadership as the top destination for Spanish furniture with a percentage of total exports of 29.8% and an increase of 3.4% in the first six months of 2022.
Meanwhile, the United States ranks as the third destination for Spanish furniture exports with a growing percentage of 7.7% of total exports and a significant growth of 39.5% in the first half of this year.
Also noteworthy is the 22.4% increase in Spanish exports to the United Kingdom, overcoming the barriers resulting from Brexit.
According to statements by the president of ANIEME, Juan Carlos Muñoz, “The data for the first half of 2022, with a growth of 12.4% show a very important recovery in foreign sales, reflecting the effort that Spanish furniture manufacturers are making month after month, despite the complicated situation that is being experienced worldwide.
This positive trend and the behavior of foreign markets in their purchases allow us to affirm that the pull of foreign demand for furniture will continue to strengthen the Spanish furniture sector with a foreseeable double-digit growth by the end of 2022.”
