SPAIN – The National Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters of Spain (ANIEME) has published the report on the foreign trade results of the Spanish furniture sector for the period from January to September 2024.
During these nine months, international sales in the sector increased by 1.9%, surpassing EUR 2.31 billion.
In terms of export destinations for Spanish furniture, France continues to lead with a 26.5% share of the total, despite a 3.6% decline in the first nine months of 2024. Following France, the European countries with the highest growth in imports of Spanish furniture are Portugal (+1.7%), Germany (+2.4%), and Italy (+7.1%).
The United States, ranked fourth among the top destinations for Spanish furniture, saw a 7.7% drop during the period from January to September 2024. This is undoubtedly a market that must continue to be supported in order to recover sales volume, as well as to tap into the significant business opportunities it offers.
Mexico (+10.8%) is also an important market, not only due to its size and strategic location to access other Latin American countries, but also because of the growing number of projects that require furnishings, which has contributed to the positive results in this period.
